RAMONA —- The American Civil Liberties Union claims a sixth-grade student’s free-speech rights were violated after her school told her she could not give a classroom presentation about Harvey Milk, the gay San Francisco supervisor assassinated in 1978, unless her classmates had signed permission slips from parents or guardians.
The ACLU on Wednesday sent a letter to the Ramona Unified School District asking that it apologize to the student, Natalie Jones, 12, a Mt. Woodson Elementary School student.
