Potential Nogales schoolyard bullies might have had a quick change of heart after seeing the forces lined up against them at a July 12 meeting.
A parade of counselors and law enforcement officers took turns speaking to the Nogales Unified School District No. 1 governing board about bullying. And while no students were in the audience, Student Services Director John Utne pledged to make sure they get this message: If any incident is reported to the school principal and the investigation points to a particular student, he or she will face a cop as well as parents and school officials.
